Our History

In 1817, a new Methodist congregation organized in Old Middleton, about 3 miles west of downtown Winona. As the town of Winona grew around the railroad, the Methodist Church erected a frame building in 1871 on land donated by Col. Osborne Jones Moore, who is known as the “father of Winona.” On Christmas Day in 1898, the cornerstone was laid for the sanctuary where we continue to worship each Sunday, and the church was renamed in memory of Col. Moore.

In 2017, we celebrated the 200 years of faithful Methodist ministry that is our congregational heritage, and we are expectant for what God is going to do over the next 200 years among the Methodists in Montgomery County.

Our Vision

We are God's children sharing the love of Christ through study, worship, and service.
